1,2,3,4,5... once I caught a fish alive...

Updated: Apr 22, 2020

Many of our children are very visual.. it almost seems as if the different senses find a natural internal way to balance themselves out.. so if your child is not verbal or less verbal... they may be extremely visually talented.. or their auditory sense may be extremely sensitive and musical.. these are of course just my parental thoughts... not an exact science.

A number is basically just a shape and to an extremely visual child these shapes can be easily memorized as well as their sequence. Now it is our job to find games and enjoyable ways to give these number shapes a meaning. To explain that 1 Apple and another Apple gives you two apples! During these games remember to place yourself in front of your child and preferably at eyes height in order to enjoy and support eye contact communication. Also point and say give me this and pick up that and oops I dropped this can you please pick it up for me?... create situations where your child learns to interact with you and respond to requests and be involved and interested. Make sure you tell your gorgeous child how proud you are of them and how amazing they are with every response! no matter how small or large it is! This is communication and the meditat I’ve process of all those important connections being made in your childs beautiful mind! Be creative and visual... try to think what you would enjoy if you were your child and create fabulous quantitative experiences tailor made to your child.
