Most of the dollar stores or art shops stock bags of interesting colorful feathers and pompoms. simply empty them into any size plastic box. Preferably the box will be transparent and have a lid... this way your beautiful child will be tempted enough to initiate communication and find a way to ask you to help them open the box.
Once the box is open the options are endless..
On a sensory level is is a fabulous activity just to place your hands inside the box enjoy The feel of the soft pompoms or the tickle of a feather on your skin. You could divide into different colors or take out some simple plasticine and create fun imaginary creatures by Sticking feathers into it.
Anything you choose to do... try to naturally sit opposite your child and try to place the feathers or pompoms near your face/eyes... to naturally promote and teach your child to look at your eyes.
